Sky watchers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Missouri witnessed a brilliant green fireball streaking across the sky at approximately 10:05 pm CDT on April 14th. Images from a rooftop in Madison, Wisconsin, show a brilliant midair explosion. The fireball’s smoke trail was picked up by National Weather Service radars in La Crosse and Quad Cities, Iowa. No satellite decays were expected at the time of the blast; this event was probably caused by a natural meteoroid.
The fireball was also caught by a Howard County Iowa Sheriff’s Deputy.: fireball-webcam-movie
